Privacy, in plain words.

Your private everyday records belong with you. Here is what stays on your device, what happens when you choose to connect, and the choices you keep.

Who we are

YouMatterToo is an Aiterrios project, created from lived experience as parents of a child with additional needs. This policy covers the YouMatterToo app and this website.

What stays on your device

Your plans, contacts, notes, private writing, selected avatar and username, settings, chosen pictures and voice recordings are stored locally by the app. We do not receive a copy of these private records on Aiterrios servers. The app uses device storage rather than a separately encrypted vault. Removing the app, resetting or losing the device may remove local records.

Your optional Google Drive copy

Where enabled in the installed app, Google connection is optional. You choose your own Google account and approve access through Google. The only Drive permission requested is drive.appdata: access to the app’s hidden data folder, not your other Drive files. Transfers go directly between your device and Google Drive; there is no Aiterrios backup server. Access tokens are used for the operation and are not saved in our app’s local record store.

This version prepares manual, text-only backup and restore. Plans, notes, personal writing, settings and profile metadata can be included. Photos and voice recordings are not included. Signing in alone does not continuously back up your data. Restore uses the saved copy, not changes made afterwards. You can revoke access in your Google account; doing so does not itself erase an existing Drive copy.

Books and articles

When enabled, online books use Open Library and its cover service; articles use publisher feeds. These providers receive ordinary connection information, such as your IP address, and requests such as a book search or article category. Private notes and plans are not sent with those requests. Saved source text and cached covers remain on the device. External text may stay in its original language.

Accepting the app’s terms enables books and articles as disclosed on the welcome screen. Each can be switched off separately in My Space. This stops new requests and keeps saved content. The current browser preview relays publisher feeds through a local development service.

Sharing is a separate choice

The community feature is currently a local-network preview, not a publicly available live forum. If you enable it and publish, the community service stores your shared posts and replies, report records and a pseudonymous session identifier. Your private planner and diary are not uploaded. Anonymous posts hide your chosen name from readers; anonymity is not a guarantee of untraceability. Reports are recorded, but the preview is not monitored around the clock.

Private blog posts stay private unless you choose to share. Sharing a source article sends its reference link and title, not a claim to own the publisher’s text. Another app you choose for sharing has its own privacy practices.

Pictures, voice and device permissions

Pictures are chosen through the system picker and stored locally. We do not request broad access to browse your entire gallery. The microphone is requested when you choose to record or dictate. Built-in dictation requests on-device processing and falls back to typing if it is unavailable. Your system keyboard is a separate service. Notifications are optional and can be turned off.

Visiting this website

The website has no advertising, marketing pixels or usage-analytics scripts added by us. Fonts, the logo and website assets are served from this site. We do not use website cookies for advertising or tracking.

Cloudflare hosts the site and processes normal request information, such as IP address, browser information, request path and time, to deliver and protect it. This infrastructure processing is separate from private app records. Cloudflare may handle technical security data under its own terms and privacy policy.

Access, correction and deletion

You control local app records on your device and can edit, export or delete them there. Optional connections can be switched off. Manage Google access and Drive copies through your Google account. Applicable privacy rights are not limited by this policy.

Why information is processed

Local app storage supports the features you choose to use. Optional online and Drive features operate on your request and the permissions you grant. We do not sell private app records, use them for targeted advertising or train an AI model with them.

A tool for the person providing care

The app is intended for parents and other people providing support. It is not a child-facing social network. We do not ask for a child’s diagnosis, birth date or gender. You decide what to put in private records; please respect the privacy of others when sharing.

Policy updates

This policy is dated 15 October 2026. Material changes to storage, sharing or optional connections will be explained before they take effect. You can read the current policy here at any time.
